Chinese Subtitles

Hey Rednoah,

I've been using FileBot now for a while to sort my media collection (As you do i suppose, wtf else would I be using it for...) and I've recently married a Chinese woman. I looked into the Subtitles feature of Filebot for the first time and Noticed it can batch download subtitles from a few different sites, very cool feature. Except that none of the currently supported sites list any Chinese subs.

The only site that I have found that list Chinese subs is shooter.cn, I can get subs from there via XBMC's default subtitles plugin, however it will only get one episode at a time.

Would you be able to look at adding support for this in the near future? I don't know if XBMC does it through APi or scrapping though it works quite well.

恭喜恭喜！ Looked at that a year ago. They don't have a public documented API (maybe I'm wrong but they definitely make it hard to scrape the page). They do have some subtitle-by-hash thing going on with their own player but is it really working that well? Sure isn't that perfect for OpenSubtitles because of the very limited number of people uploading subs with hash.

Anyway, I'll have a look, but unless it's very easy to develop and maintain I won't much bother. I live in 北京 so it'd be a cool feature, but it's really not worth doing for just me and a handful of expats.

EDIT: Didn't find any docs or the source code of other working implementations.

If I find anything I'll post here, otherwise we'll leave it in the too hard basket, thanks for checking it out though.

In the mean time I'll keep using Funshion and hope they keep uploading american movies in hd for us.

Attached is the xbmc addon that works for this site, it's written in python, which I don't know anything about. Maybe it will help, maybe it won't.

PS I visited Beijing briefly, I spent spring Festival 2009 there actually. But I lived in a city in Chongqing (重庆万州区) which is were I met my wife. We are currently living in Australia as my work is based here.

Had a look this morning to figure out how splayer and that python script work. Can be done, but it's lots of extra work since that API is not exactly user friendly. Maybe if there is more people or incentive for that feature I'll consider working on it.
