In the last day or so mint has done some updates to some of the programs is uses and the problem seems to be fixed.

I am using Linux mint 20.2 cinnamon. At install it is Nemo file manager from what I can tell.

I just noticed some other programs are doing the same thing. So it maybe a mint/program issue. 1 of the programs Okular had like 10+ duplicates in there.
