Re: FileBot should use tags to figure out what is what

1. FileBot does not generally use mp4 / mkv tags. However, you can specifically rename files based on mp4 tags by clicking on Smart Mode: Attributes . This will match your files against locally available information, typically xattr metadata, but mp4 tags too if xattr metadata isn't available. 2. Wh...

Why does TheTVDB DVD Order not work correctly in FileBot and Plex?

TL;DR If you use TheTVDB as scraper in Plex, then you must use Airdate Order . If you want to use DVD Order , then you must use TheMovieDB::TV as scraper. Plex and FileBot use the same API, so Plex sees what FileBot sees. But neither Plex nor FileBot necessarily see what you see on the website. Tha...

Re: Feature Request: Bluray Episode Ordering

Thanks for informing me of this. I do use Plex, and technically it supports DVD ordering. The option can be found when editing a series under the advanced tab. Whether it works or not has been hit and miss though. If your use case is Plex, then renaming episodes according to the TheTVDB custom BluR...

Re: Feature Request: Bluray Episode Ordering

FileBot does support TheMovieDB episode groups 2=Absolute and 3=DVD but not the other 5 standard types. As far as I can tell, none of them match TheTheTVDB :: The Office (US) :: BluRay Order , where Traveling Salesmen + The Return is listed as a single episode, and so all the numbers are off by 1 fr...

Re: Skipping subfolders in a group of movie folders with a specific name

Based on the file name, these files should be ignored by default, unless they're larger than 150 MB or longer than 30 min , in which case they'll be considered full-fledged movie / episode files even if the name might suggest otherwise. :?: How large / long are your extras / Special Feature files? E...

Re: Skipping subfolders in a group of movie folders with a specific name

In this case, FileBot will refuse to process your extras by default. e.g. test file structure: $ tree -N Avatar Avatar ├── Avatar.mkv └── extras ├── Special Feature (1).mkv ├── Special Feature (2).mkv └── Special Feature (3).mkv e.g. both CLI and GUI will automatically ignore extras / Special Featur...

Re: Skipping subfolders in a group of movie folders with a specific name

1. Can you provide file paths for your extras files? FileBot will exclude sample files / trailer files / extra files / etc by default, but depending on how your files are organized and named, this may not always work. 2. How to process only specific kinds of files? should generally cover you, but yo...

Re: Feature Request: Bluray Episode Ordering

TheTVDB historically only supports Airdate SxE / DVD SxE / Absolute. Even though they've recently added support for arbitrary episode orders, those are not accessible via the TheTVDB API v2 that FileBot is currently using. :!: If you're organizing files for Plex / Kodi / any software that uses TheTV...

Re: Matching right episode, wrong title

You may need to do it in this order:
1. Search "QI XL" in Episodes with TheTVDB to activate related caches
2. Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL (clear active caches only)
3. Search "QI XL" in Episodes with TheTVDB again to see if you get different results

Re: Using foldername to rename file

Is there also a way to automatically move the files one folder up? Yes. Your custom format decides the destination path: ../{folder.name} or {folder.dir}/{folder.name} The GUI does auto-delete left-behind empty folders, but since your moving files within the same file structure, this may or ...

Re: Reinstalled Filebot...Renaming now followed by "Extended Attributes"

Pretty much. Nothing has changed. Plex, Total Commander, etc will continue to work just fine as your files remain untouched and unchanged. There is no downside to having additional metadata associated with your files.

[StableBit DrivePool] The request is not supported

If you are using a custom file system driver, e.g. StableBit DrivePool, then advanced NTFS file system features such as --action hardlink and --action symlink may not be supported:

Code: Select all

SEVERE: HARDLINK: X:\a.mp4 -> X:\b.mp4: The request is not supported

Re: Reinstalled Filebot...Renaming now followed by "Extended Attributes"

Presently immediately after every renaming through Filebot, a small window pops up and says "setting extended attributes" (lasts a few seconds, completes, and closes) FileBot has been writing Extended Attributes by default since 2012, so if you've been good up until now, then you're probably good g...

Re: Running AMC with @File Hangs

Hasn't really come up. I'll add a hint to the docs.
