You can't. It's just a history of recently used formats. If you apply new ones, then the old ones are replaces by the new ones.

So if one uses different formats (e.g. 5 for series) one has to save them in a text file or such because they will get lost someday?

Here it shows: Image
So it looks like those formats are kept stored there to be used at any time.

1.
Backing up your custom formats is highly recommended. Sharing them here in the forums is a good way to back them up for posterity, for yourself and others.

2.
You'll want to use Presets if you find yourself switching between formats rapidly.

What is the best way to back them up on one's own hard drive?

Ah yes, the presets if one has more than one movie and / or series format, is it right?

Copy and Paste would be most convenient.

2.
Yes, you can have many Presets with different formats for each of them.

Every single preset one after the other?

Sure. Why not?
Well, well, because it sounds quite enconvenient. Copying them all at one would be more convenient / senseful, I would think.

Don't know, 10, 20 or so.

More than 10 seems excessive. How come you need so many different formats?

Well, some have different paths, some are for trying and such. How many formats / presets should one have / need?

IDK. If you need that many then you need that many. Who am I to argue? It's your use case. I've just never had anyone report using so many formats before.

I'd be curious though, so if you could paste all of your formats that would be interesting.

Well, there are many, I guess, for trying, with slight differences, may be failures and whatever and same formats with just different paths (for different movie folders, series folders), so it is not anything special or interesting.
