Binding {vf}: sample file has not been set

Post by CrazieBird »

I have been reading about this vf (resolution) so I can label my folder with the resolution of the file but I can not find out how to get {vf} to work.

When I add it in format I get this error "Binding {vf}":Sample File has not been set. Click"Change Sample" to select a sample file"

To be honest I am lost as to how to so this change sample to get this to work, any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

I found that i could get it to work by selecting a newer file by clicking "change sample" then i had to select an actual video file using "select media file" then clicking "Use Bindings". I didn't find it that easy to understand but an hour or so of playing with it and it suddenly worked as i wanted, thanks.

Yes, {vf} and friends are based on real values, so you need to set a sample file for testing:

 I recommend first matching all your files, and then opening the format editor by double-clicking on the New Names item. That way you are testing with life data, instead of fake sample data.
