How to update expired license?

My initial 1 year license appears to have expired (about when expected, but without any warning) overnight. Either that, or dark mode support is suddenly broken. I purchased a lifetime license to use (now that I know just how useful and capable FileBot is!) but there does not appear to be any way to actually ENTER or ATTACH the new license. The instructions from my "Thanks for purchasing" message don't apply, neither do the things listed on the FAQ (at viewtopic.php?t=6121). I'm on Windows 10 Pro, using the downloaded .msi to install. When I click on "Rename" there is no option to enter a key, I just get a popup telling me there are no files to rename.
So...
If my license has NOT expired yet, why is Dark Mode no longer working? If my license HAS expired, why does everything else seem to still be working fine (I used FileBot to rename two TV show files this morning after FileBot stopped using Dark Mode.) Or am I in some sort of transitional phase where the license is, for want of a better term, in the process of "expiring"??
Why doesn't this program just have something SIMPLE in its settings to enter/update a license? Double-secret, hidden license setting controls are NOT helpful -- the exact opposite of just about everything else in FileBot!
