Match does nothing

Post by daetilus »

Purchased this through Microsoft Store and used it fine for a year or so.

Got a new computer, re-downloaded the app from MS Store, installed, and opens fine. Both the new and old system used Windows 10.

I drag and drop a file, and it appears on the Original Files side. I tell it to match, and nothing happens. I've tried both theMovieDB and OMDb. Nothing. Not even the circle with the 3 spinning dots that used to happen when it was searching.

sysinfo is:

Code: Select all

Can you provide sample file paths or screenshots?

 You may press F7 to copy the file paths loaded into FileBot so you can paste them here easily.

Here is the movie I first tried and had the issue with.

Here are some screen shots:

1) After hitting Match, using either movie site

2) If I just try hitting Rename anyways, I get this message

F7 gives me the following:

The Lost World\lost world null

So uh....yea just ignore me now. I'm an idiot and figured it out immediately after posting the followup. But your post helped me figure it out. Hitting the F7 and seeing "null" afterwards clued me in.

Somehow, the file lost it's extension. I added it back on and then filebot worked as normal. No clue what happened to the extension but I'm sure it was something I did.

Sorry to have wasted your time. Thanks for your help!

Yes. FileBot will complete ignore non-video files in Auto-Match mode. Hence it just says "File" on the left hand side.

Would this occur with mp4 files also? An example I have is "Z:\Way Station\From TorLap\To be Sorted\Buffy 6 + Extras\Buffy the Vampire Slayer S06E03 After Life.mp4" and "Z:\Way Station\From TorLap\To be Sorted\Buffy 6 + Extras\Buffy.S06E04.Flooded.mp4"

Both files run and similarly named files from the same directory do work.

My system is Windows 10 and purchased via Microsoft store

mp4 files should work. It'll say mp4 in the yellow label next to the filename, and auto-matching will pick them up as video file.

 Please include a screenshot if something looks off or shows unexpected behaviour, so we can quickly see what's going on.

:!: The keyword "Extras" in the file path may prevent auto-matching to pick up those files. Have you tried any files not in the "Buffy 6 + Extras" folder?

Like the previous guy ... I look at the ground sheepishly and wonder why it never occurred to me to change the source directory name ... I think the "+" might be messing with some of your code.

I might have to change my nick to CaptinObvious :-D

Cheers for slapping me on my forehead :-)

No worries. It's definitely an odd one. Ideally, the GUI shouldn't be that strict with Extras and Trailers. I'll look into it.
