If you have purchased FileBot on the Windows Store, then you don't have a universal license and you don't need a universal license. Just install FileBot via the Windows Store and it'll work. If FileBot asks for a license then you didn't install FileBot via the Windows Store.

The Windows Store purchase is a lifetime purchase. However, it's not possible to transfer or exchange the Windows Store purchase to a universal lifetime license.

If you want to refund your Windows Store purchase, you'll have to contact the Microsoft Store:

As a courtesy, you may request a free 1 year complimentary license if you have purchase FileBot if you have purchased FileBot on the Store, but want to try it on platforms that aren't included in your original purchase:

Similarly: I purchased filebot from the windows store, and I've been having trouble with it hanging right after the command (that I've scripted and used a million times.) I have version 4.9.6.(r2195). I see that 4.9.8 is available from https://get.filebot.net/filebot/BETA/ as a x64 PKG or portable. I can't figure out how to install the PKG, and tried the stand-alone GUI. It works but asks me for a license key to rename.

Should I make a new support thread for this?

Windows Store purchases cannot be converted to non-Store license keys, but you can request a complimentary license for testing purposes:
