Current AUR install not providing an icon.

Post by nothing919 »

I don't mind starting filebot via command line but until recently I had an icon. Not to mention when I open via command line an icon shows up on the dash, just not in Gnome apps and I can't make it a favorite in dash to dock.

The only officially supported AUR package is the one based on the *-aur.tar.xz binary package:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/filebot/

That being said, system integration largely depends on how the AUR package installs the files that FileBot provides, so nothing I can change in my code that would fix desktop integration on your end.

Oddly enough filebot-git updated yesterday and I have my icon back.

So you know the link you provided does not install the proper dependencies and filebot doesn't start. This package however does provide the necessary dependencies. It does sometimes have problems with the icon though, so my solution is to install filebot-git first then uninstall leaving the dependencies and installing the package you linked. Following this procedure everything works as expected.
