Movie autodetection sometimes not working

Post by cheaters »

I am Command Option dragging a folder into filebot window and selecting match "TheMovieDB". It works most of the time, but recently filebot is matching the name of the directory that folder is in. It happens to be named "Fresh". So filebot looks for titles named Freshon "TheMovieDB" instead of searching using the name of the folder which is one directory below. Hope that makes sense.

FileBot will use all information that makes sense, but it might not always pick the one you think is best. You can always force the search query yourself if auto-detection doesn't work though. Please see FAQ #2.

More information is required. The file paths you're trying to process at the very least. Please read How to Request Help.

Mac OS 10.11.6
Installed from Apple Store
FileBot Version 4.7.2 (4210)

I have a video screen capture that will explain it better.

On Mac do we need Java installed for FileBot to work properly?

Have you tried any other movie?

This particular file doesn't work due to a spelling mistake. A search for "Cesar Chaves" yields no results on TheMovieDB. The movie is called "Cesar Chavez". Spelling mistakes can be a problem for computer programs that aren't Google. ;)

Solution:
  1. Hold SHIFT when clicking TheMovieDB (to force manual search as described in FAQ #2)
  2. Enter "Cesar Chavez"

PS: You do not need to install Java.

PS2: I've added "Fresh" to the blacklist but that won't help you in this case.
