[DSM 6.0] can't install filbot node

Post by toleeck »

i have ds213air with DSM 6.0.
Your forum has helped me install Java and run filebot. but i can't install filebot node! ((
when trying to install from the repository, issued a message (not error) on the need to pre-install node.js.
ok. I tried to install node.js from the official repository. also I tried to install from other repositories. tried to install them even once)) but I am still waiting for a message about the need to install node.js.
I tried to install it manually, but still not succeeded.

It is seen in the screenshot about how and what I have now installed
Image

here you can see where symbolic links are
Image

What can be wrong? everything installed, but the filebot node install and run does not work ((

What exactly are you doing? What exactly is not working? What exactly does the error message say?

Did you check the other DSM 6 threads?

PS: FileBot Node 0.1.8 does not work on DSM 6. There's a beta for a new version that is compatible, but it's not in the repository. Please read the threads I linked for more information.

here's a message from the DSM. it's not a mistake, it's a warning.
Image
Here is the text of the warning:
"The following packages are not available on the server packages. For assistance, contact Customer Support.
Node.js"
I can not see the log, because the filebot node bot is not installed

for manual installation filebot-node-0.2.0-noarch.spk, I get a similar message:
"Install the following packages before you install this package:
Node.js_v4"

maybe I should not worry? probably worth the wait when there will be a stable version for the sixth DSM)))
Thank you for your answers, good luck!

Node.js_v4 is a Synology package. So you should be able to install that from the repository.

I understand it)) and I installed node.js from repository (0.10.41-0159). but maybe here I need something newer. probably for my ds213air (CPU mv6282) is no normal node.js build, which would be suitable for the installation filebot node.

Node.js_v4 is a separate package, that may or may not be available for your device. Ask Synology support.

If an older node (and Oracle Java 8) works you can probably make it work. You'll need some basic shell skills though.

13-series: DS213, DS213air, DS413j, DS213+, DS413
12-series: DS112, DS112+, DS112j, DS212, DS212+, DS212j, RS212, RS812
11-series: DS111, DS211, DS211+, DS211j, DS411, DS411j, DS411slim, RS411

Rednoah is there any other options you`ll make it available for ds213? :(

Why? What do those devices have in common?

What architecture is the DS213? Does Java/FileBot even work on that?

EDIT:

Try this: https://sourceforge.net/projects/filebo ... noarch.spk

EDIT 2:

The Node.js package is broken on my DS213J so the final release will depend on Node.js_v4 which should be stable as it's used by Synology itself for some apps. Bad luck for older devices though.

I`m not 100% sure, but mine has ARM.
Tried installing from your link, doesnt work, asks for node v4 :(
I have DS213 does it mean I wont be able to use it in the future?

P.S. sorry, I`m not a developer, this may sound like a stupid question, but isn't there a way to make it work with the node js that is currently available? it worked before... or some major changes in DSM 6?

It's more of a usability issue. I could just remove node from the dependencies and then figuring out node will be your job. There would be a "I clicked in install and it doesn't work" issue here in the forums everyday if I did that. Not gonna happen.

So you can most certainly make it work. The problem is really just DSM refusing to install the package. If it did, it would probably just work.

If you have trouble with dependencies, try to manually download and install filebot-node-0.2.0-noarch-DSM5.spk and see if it works. This package does not list any dependencies, so it's your responsibility that Node.js and FileBot are installed.

Thanks a lot.
I was able to install FileBot Node 0.2
Now I`m trying to update the Filebot to 4.7 and I keep getting the error that I need to start Oracle Java SE, but when I try starting it, nothing happens.
The log says
ImageImage

and starting the FileBot Node gave me a change to get back to annoying error "/usr/local/bin/filebot: line 53: java: command not found" which I saw already and fixed earlier, but with my current skill set, I`ll spent some time again =(

But anyway, thank you !

armv5 is not supported, must be pretty old, so you probably won't have enough RAM for anything to actually work well.

You can try with the Synology Java packages, or installing the Oracle Embedded JDK.

That's just clicky-clicky, but if it doesn't work you can always set it up yourself:
