No fallback to English? How can I translate English naming to German naming?

Hello

That's easy to reproduce, so I'll just some up the steps:
- Set the scraping language to German
- Try to identify the file

Code: Select all

Keeping Up with the Kardashians - S17E01.strm

Result: Filebot identifies it as

Code: Select all

Keeping Up with the Khans - S01E01

The show has no German metadata at thetvdb, so I guess that's the reason...? Would be nice if Filebot falls back to English then.



That's the basic problem, but it gets even worse

Try to identify those two files with scraping language set to German:

Detektiv Conan - S01E01.strm
Keeping Up with the Kardashians - S17E01.strm

Now filebot wants to rename them to

Code: Select all

Detektiv Conan - S01E01 - Die tödliche Perlenkette
Detektiv Conan - S17E01 - Clash of Red and Black! (The Beginning)

The big problem in this scenario is that the wrong detection is not being marked red. So if you want to rename a bunch of files, it's easy to oversee.

Just tell me if you need more info, but you should be easily able to reproduce.

Sounds like you want to match in English, but rename in German, which you can do by setting the language to English as is default, and then translating to German in your custom format:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3761

e.g.

Code: Select all

{localize.German.plex.name}

Technically, the Language / Episode Order settings describe what you have, not what you want, though it usually doesn't matter. Translating to a different Language / Episode Order is best accomplished via the {localize} and {order} bindings in the format.

FileBot r6752 adds improvements for this particular use case.

Yes, you may use the latest beta builds. They've recently been updated.
