Preserve subtitle suffixes during rename

Post by kenjo »

You have individual support for movies, tv episodes, music, etc. With Plex, I have forced subtitles with the suffix "en.forced.srt". And the filename itself must match the movie name in order for Plex to associate the movie and its forced subtitles. If I copy paste a number of movies (for renaming) and their subtitles get included in that copy/paste into the FB rename panel, the subtitles lose their "en.forced.srt" and just become ".srt". I have to then go in and rename them back to their original suffix.

So, my feature request is to allow (e.g. in preferences) for us to specify that we want the subtitle file suffixes to be preserved after the rename (and thus, not to have "en.forced.srt" be converted to ".srt").

Thank you
Ken

The subtitle language tag is added by your format, or not, depending on your format. Please use the {plex} format instead of your current custom format, since that will do what you want by default. Alternatively, you can add {subt} to your custom format.
