Pulling TIME information from file or DB

Post by ChefGregS »

I have noticed that the length of a movie / tv show is pulled from the database used to get the information. Shouldn't Filebot pull it from the FILE if available?

I am asking because I take many of my mini-series and re-encode them to be better, smaller, etc...

I have one I just did that has 6 episodes. I made them into one nice full length movie. When getting the file info from the databases to rename it in my format it shows the running time as 26 minutes. Even though the movie is actually 148 minutes.

Is this a bug, a feature, a bug that is now a feature? lol Is it possible to have it read the file time FIRST and if it isn't there THEN use the DB information?

You can use either, depending on what your need or want. The {minutes} binding will give you the duration in minutes based on MediaInfo of the local file.
