1.
What does the filebot sysinfo say? What do the logs say? Are you using the latest Oracle Java 10 release?

2.
SSL errors can be tricky. I don't know a certain solution, but installing the latest Java usually does the trick.

Reinstalling FileBot Subtitles has no effect, or shouldn't at least. FileBot (MAS, PKG) and FileBot Subtitles (PKG) include their own private JRE so the java installed on your system has no effect on them, but other system settings might.

You will find logs here:

Code: Select all

$HOME/Library/Containers/net.filebot.FileBot/Data/Library/Application Support/User Data

Have you tried the new beta? The PKG or the APP bundle? The former does not use your system java, the latter does. Might make difference.

There's a very interesting clue right there:

Code: Select all

Jul 17, 2018 2:50:10 PM net.filebot.util.PreferencesMap$PreferencesEntry flush
WARNING: Synchronization failed for node '/net/filebot/'
I've never seen this one before. It basically tells us that your system is somehow screwed up / something is blocking access to system preferences and settings.

What could be the sources of this issue? Something that breaks local preferences as well as SSL. I don't know. What is different between your system and a clean system? Must be some sort of 3rd party system software.

Maybe Anti-Virus or Firewall, that sort of 3rd party system software, screwing with system internals?
