Unable to install Windows app on Windows Server 2016

Post by Wombat555 »

Hi,

I've been using Filebot for over a year now and it's a great program.

I hope you can give a workaround for this problem.

I purchased filebot from the Windows store. Great for Win 10. Trouble is I need to install it on a Windows 2016 server but Windows won't give me the option of linking the Server OS to a Microsoft account so I'm locked out of the windows store.

I know filebot works on 2016 as I've downloaded and installed it (ver 4.8.5).

I've tried copying the program directory from the Win 10 pc to the server. The program fires up, albeit a bit slow and gets as far as the rename stage and then throws a kernel error.

My options seem to be:

* Some help migrating the program from the Win 10 PC to the Server.

* You could possibly send me link to a licensed version I could download and install. If this is possible I would be grateful for the portable version as I frequently rebuild my pc's.

Thanks for a really great program. I hope to hear from you soon.

1.
You may request a complimentary universal license:

2.
You can't just copy Microsoft Store applications. Things don't work that way. It'll need to run within the Store context within your Microsoft Account context, so your Microsoft Store purchase can only be used on Microsoft Store platforms.
