Matching Movies with nfo files

So I can't find the thread now, but I know I read somewhere in this forum about filebot being able to use an .nfo inside a folder to match the movie. Sound familiar? Maybe that was an upcoming feature.

** Found it**

I was just thinking about that today while I'm still dragging and dropping movies. Maybe that only works when run from a script instead of the console? All of the hundreds of movies I'm renaming right now have an nfo file in the folder with the same name as the movie. There are still folders though where it pops up and asks me which movie it is. I thought it could check in the nfo and find out for itself.

Also, with some movies like Blade and a few others there are two matches that come up with tmdb with the same year. I know that has happened with other programs and imdb for movies that have video games made of them. On imdb those usually show a vg or v or something so you know it's a game. How do I know which one with tmdb?

1. The data from the nfo is def. part of the options it'll show you, but for some reason it's not confident to just auto-select that. Again I need movie/nfo filenames and nfo content.

2. Send me filenames of the movies where you get double results so I can quickly check that. It's like you said, it's there twice because there is two movies with the same name/year but different imdb.

Ok so here is a filename you can check in the rename console and get duplicate results:

AVPR- Aliens vs Predator - Requiem [2007 R]/AVPR- Aliens vs Predator - Requiem [2007 R] ([2007].LAB,DVDRIP.XVID.[Eng]-DUQA).avi

There is an "AVPR- Aliens vs Predator - Requiem - NFO.nfo" file in the folder which contains only one line, below:

I just tried selecting each of the top two choices to see if it would show me any differences. The way I have my formatting set up one showed up like the movie should and the second showed no rating or certification. So I would assume the first one is right. It would just be nice to know that before selecting each, especially when dealing with a batch, at which point I click ignore to deal with it later.

Maybe the nfo isn't helping because I have 2 other versions of the same movie in the same folder so it's confusing filebot, but when I drag the nfo and the movie in together it gives the same result. However, when I drag in the nfo on it's own with no movie file at all it picks the right movie without my input.

I don't actually want to rename the nfo's, I can live without them for now, because I'll be regenerating them with Ember once everything is renamed. If I wanted to rename them though and bring them along there is a snag. They should be named the same as the movie, but because they don't have media info with them, they get processed differently.

For example, they become something like (well right now for some reason it's not wanting to rename the nfo's at all, but it was something like):
[SD] [272p] [DVDRip] [XviD] [MP3] [DUQA] Underworld- Rise of the Lycans ([2009].PREMIERE.DVDRIP.XVID.[Eng]-DUQA).avi
[DVDRip] [DUQA] Underworld- Rise of the Lycans ([2009].PREMIERE.DVDRIP.XVID.[Eng]-DUQA).avi
