err:"action can't be completed b/c the file is open in Java"

Post by helil »

Hi,
I am getting this error message when trying to rename files:
"the action can't be completed because the file is open in Java(TM) Platform SE binary"
I'm using Filebot UI under windows7 64, same was happening when I used the Weblaunch version. This confuses me, as the Java Platform is actually what's running for Filebot. What could be causing this?
Thanks in advance

Any file? Moving to another drive? Or just renaming in place? Right after starting FileBot even if renaming is the first thing you do? Renaming movies or episodes?

Try setting this in filebot.launcher.l4j.ini:

Code: Select all

-DuseExtendedFileAttributes=false

Thanks rednoah, here we go:
Any file?
So far, I believe just the video files. Any other file (such as .srt) renames fine.
Moving to another drive? Or just renaming in place?
Just renaming in place.
Right after starting FileBot even if renaming is the first thing you do?
Yes, I start FileBot, drag a folder containing the files to the "original files" panel, right-click on "match >> movie mode", wait for a match and click "rename", then comes the error.

Does this shed some light, do you still think I should go on and edit the "filebot.launcher.l4j.ini"?

Could you try using the latest jar? Just download filebot-3.1-r1344-rob.jar and override FileBot.jar in your install folder with that.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/filebo ... ebot/HEAD/

If that also doesn't work you could try using the FileBot (platform) shortcut which runs things with windows specific features disabled.

Dear rednoah,

Using the FileBot (platform) presented the same issues, but the latest .jar seems to have solved the problem completely!

Thanks a lot!
