License Error: License file not found

Post by Seitan »

Hi I'm having issues trying to activate my licence.

I have tried opening the licence directly from the email received and also from the app itself but both times i get the error "License Error: License file not found X:|Directoryxxx"

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated :)

Re: [FAQ] How do I activate my license?

1.
Please open CMD and run filebot -script fn:sysinfo and post the output.

2.
What is the exact file path to your license file? Is it on a strange location with possibly limited permissions? What if you put it into C:\P12345.psm and then select via "Select License" from there?

Thanks rednoah,

This is the result i get from running filebot -script fn:sysinfo

Code: Select all

FileBot 4.8.2 (r5789)
JNA Native: 5.2.2
MediaInfo: 18.05
7-Zip-JBinding: 9.20
Chromaprint: 1.4.2
Extended Attributes: OK
Unicode Filesystem: OK
Script Bundle: 2018-08-14 (r534)
Groovy: 2.5.1
JRE: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 10.0.2
JVM: 64-bit Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM
CPU/MEM: 4 Core / 3 GB Max Memory / 72 MB Used Memory
OS: Windows 10 (amd64)
Package: MSI
License: UNREGISTERED
Done ?(?????)?
I have tried the license file in multiple locations none of which have limited permissions. I have tried having it in C:\P12345.psm and still getting "License Error: License file not found C:\P12345.psm"

What does the console say if you run this command?

Code: Select all

filebot --license "C:\P12345.psm"
Where C:\P12345.psm is of course the valid path to your license file.

No idea. Doesn't make sense. Can you send me a screenshot that shows both the license file in the location given and the console window showing the error?

Seitan wrote:09 Sep 2018, 04:39 Hey mate not sure why I'm having so many issues, I have tried as I said in multiple locations on multiple drives but keep getting this same error.

When I did it the first time earlier it only displayed the License error, didn't show that warning at the end. Not sure if that means anything?

Appreciate all the assistance
Having had a second look at your screenshot, are you sure that you correctly saved the email attachment? Because Windows Explorer shows 0 KB as file size which means this is an empty file and not a valid license file.

Additionally, when passing the file path as argument, this argument must be the full file path including file extension. So the screenshot above shows "File not found" because the file path is wrong (no extension) but even if you fix taht, it would still show a similar message because the file is empty.

 Unfortunately, in this case, "license not found" refers not to the file, but to the content of the file which oddly enough is nothing in your case. Please double check how you receive email and save attachments. A valid license is about 1 KB.

EDIT:

I checked email server logs. A valid license went out 2 days ago. Please PM me screenshots from your Gmail inbox if you have trouble saving the file attachment.
