How to avoid the update message?

Post by Biff »

How can one avoid the update message displaying after starting FB? I do not want to install java 8, so I would keep using FB 4.2.

Many thanks, rednoah.

Well, I am considering...might there be any drawback to install java 8 additionally to java 7 or after removing java 7?

Many thanks again.

Just use the latest Java. It's always binary compatible so it'll run any app, just faster.

I cannot find this - Set -Dapplication.update=skip - anymore. Is there another way to avoid the update message?
