If the macOS installer (PKG) doesn't work, then you can try the app bundle instead, install via brew cask:

The FileBot cross-platform license system has only been available for a short time. If you have bought FileBot a long time ago, then presumably you bought it on the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store? Please PM me your purchase confirmation (screenshot or pdf shared via google drive preferred).

Hello,

I have now read all the pages and also searched more posts
but I could not find anything.

Therefore, I now wanted to ask what payment options there are for the license? Because I'm from Germany and I would prefer for example PayPal or paysafecard ...

But I can not find any information and would like to know this before I register with my email for the purchase.

Paranoid much?
Paddle lets you use a card or PayPal for this purchase.

No..
But I did not know what paddle is and under paddle side I did not find
any information about payment options.

That's the reason for my question. Thanks for the help and the answers.

I don't know, and I presume that Paddle supports different payment options in different regions. Credit Card and PayPal should generally be available for all EU countries, though I can't confirm this as I don't live in the EU myself currently.

You may contact Paddle ask them which payment options will be available for your region:
https://paddle.com/

 Though instead of waiting for a human to reply to your question, you could just enter [email protected] and then proceed to see what payment options you will be presented with. Just don't check out with a fake email address. ;)

Hi,

I am getting quite a few crashes and core dumps and unclean shutdowns.

I have the latest version which came out on 08 AUG 2018.

Is there a later version?

What does sysinfo output say?

If the JVM is crashing then that’s a lower level issues not specific to FileBot. What OS / architecture / Java runtime are you using? What does the core dump say? (Please share via pastebin)

1.
x86_64 Linux should be pretty common. I don't see any hints on first sight. The log is a bit strange, as it seems like the beginning is missing.

Are you sure that this is the first line of the crash dump?

Code: Select all

| 203|0x00000006d2300000, 0x00000006d2300000, 0x00000006d2400000| 0%| F| |TS 1|AC 0|TAMS 0x00000006d2300000, 0x00000006d2300000|

2.
If the DEB package is somehow not compatible with your hardware, then you could try using the generic Linux package and install Java 8 via the built-in package manager:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6057

 By using a different JRE build and version you might be able to work around whatever is crashing the JVM on your machine.

Bad luck. Internal JVM bug. Not much we can do about that:

Code: Select all

# Problematic frame:
# J 6102 c1 com.ibm.icu.impl.Utility.parseUnicodeIdentifier(Ljava/lang/String;[I)Ljava/lang/String; (89 bytes) @ 0x00007f5a1eb35d33 [0x00007f5a1eb34ee0+0x0000000000000e53]

The Java 8 build is the way to go then:

Ah, I already have Java 8 installed...

Code: Select all

$ which java
/usr/bin/java

$ java -version
openjdk version "1.8.0_181"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_181-8u181-b13-0ubuntu0.16.04.1-b13)

$ apt-cache policy openjdk-8-jre-headless:amd64
openjdk-8-jre-headless:
  Installed: 8u181-b13-0ubuntu0.16.04.1
...and to be clear, it doesn't crash all the time but only sometimes.

What is the difference between the "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/fileb ... ler/tar.sh" installer and the 4.8.2 .DEB package?

Ah, hang on a minute... at the top of my pastebin it says Java 10????!

Code: Select all

# JRE version: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (10.0.2+13) (build 10.0.2+13)
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (10.0.2+13, mixed mode, tiered, compressed oops, g1 gc, linux-amd64)
...er, where is it getting THAT from?!

Ah, it's getting it from the FileBot library I see...

Code: Select all

$ /usr/share/filebot/jre/bin/java -version
java version "10.0.2" 2018-07-17
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 18.3 (build 10.0.2+13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 18.3 (build 10.0.2+13, mixed mode)
...I'll leave you to explain that one!

1.
The DEB package includes its own JRE (in this release, Java 10) and does not use or rely on your system JRE. The portable package on the other hand relies on OpenJDK 8 being installed on the system.

2.
The DEB package and TAR package are functionally the same. The TAR package is compiled for Java 8 which makes it easier to run FileBot on all kinds of Linux devices (many of which may not be Debian based, or have an easy way to install Java 9+). Installation procedure is the primary difference.

Ah, that explains it very well, thank you.

So, like you, I reckon tar version using my systems Java is best.

I'll do that tomorrow after some sleep :-)

Right, I have uninstalled the DEB package and followed the instructions on this page... viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6057

I have copied the DEB data directory (with my licence file) to the relevant directory for the TAR version...

Code: Select all

rsync -av ~/.filebot/ /home/paully/Downloads/filebot/data/paully/
...but when I run the sysinfo script it shows as UNREGISTERED...

Code: Select all

./filebot.sh -script fn:sysinfo
FileBot 4.8.2 (r5789)
JNA Native: 5.2.2
MediaInfo: 18.05
7-Zip-JBinding: 9.20
Chromaprint: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "fpcalc": error=2, No such file or directory
Extended Attributes: OK
Unicode Filesystem: OK
Script Bundle: 2018-09-28 (r535)
Groovy: 2.5.1
JRE: OpenJDK Runtime Environment 1.8.0_181
JVM: 64-bit OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM
CPU/MEM: 4 Core / 3 GB Max Memory / 18 MB Used Memory
OS: Linux (amd64)
HW: Linux nas 4.4.0-130-generic #156-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 14 08:53:28 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
DATA: /home/paully/Downloads/filebot/data/paully
Package: TAR
License: UNREGISTERED
Done ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ
...what's next chief?

Just run filebot -license again:

Code: Select all

/path/to/filebot.sh -license /path/to/license/file

Done, fixed... thanks. Next issue...

Code: Select all

Chromaprint: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "fpcalc": error=2, No such file or directory
I can install the Ubuntu package libchromaprint-tools but this pulls in a whole LOAD of software :-(

What does Chromaprint offer and do I really need it for CLI renaming?
