Recovering license

Post by rk9 »

Hi,

I purchased this software a long time ago, registered to my email address. So i'm now running an old software. I've recently came back to this software, but now on a Windows 10 machine. It's now asking me to purchase the software again. I still have the old software running, but can't see any way to bring up the registration email, license code, serial number or even the version of file bot.

Please help in recovering my license so that I don't have to purchase again.

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

FileBot was donation-supported until recently. You couldn't have purchased a license since there was no such thing until now.

If you're referring to a previous donation, then please read this thread on how to apply for a promo code:

Hi!

I'm jumping on this chain to ask a question about my license. I just purchased a year subscription this morning, and got the receipt but never got the license file. I signed up here to PM and ask for it to be re-sent, but it's telling me I need to post more before I can PM! What should I do to get the file re-sent? Thanks for any help you can offer!

My mail logs show that your mail server has refused the email due to spam false positive. I've resent the license email to your gmail address.

I purchased originally via Apple Store about a year ago. I have since switched to Windows 10 and no longer use my Mac version. Do I need to purchase again?

Thank you.

If you want to use the Windows Store, then yes.

If you want to use the MSI installer then I can offer a 1 year complimentary universal license:

If you're using the Windows Store, then your purchase is stored in your account, and so you can't lose it. Just like how it works with the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

If you have a problem with your account, please contact Microsoft Support.

I just talked to Microsoft support for an hour.. after that they told me that they verify that I purchase the filebot on 1/10/2017 but they have no way of issuing the license for filebot but the developer....

If you are using the Microsoft Store, then you must install FileBot via the Microsoft Store. If you install FileBot via the Microsoft Store, then your license is built-in and you thus don't have a or need a license.

:!: A Microsoft Store Purchase (purchased from Microsoft via the Store) is not to be confused with an independent FileBot Universal License (purchased from this website). These are two entirely separate things: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6265

:!: If FileBot asks for a license, then you're using a version of FileBot downloaded from this website, and not your Microsoft Store Purchase. Uninstall all versions of FileBot you may have installed and then only install FileBot via the Microsoft Store, so that you can make use of your Microsoft Store Purchase.

No, there is never a problem with sending license confirmations.

There is however an occasional problem with some users being unable to receive email in general. That's not going to be issue for you though, assuming you type your email address correctly, and know how to find your check spam / junk mail folder just in case your email service (that is not Gmail) erroneously classifies your license email as such:

I recently had to rebuild my computer and I can't find my previous license of Filebot. I believe I had purchased a lifetime license. Can you confirm via my email address and resend the license. Thanks.
