FileBot

Dear friends, currently, FileBot has {info.network} to inform about the channel that originally aired (and usually produced) a series, but it doesn't have a {info.platform} or {info.provider} to indicate which platform is offering the content.

Series like The Walking Dead or Breaking Bad were produced and aired by AMC, but almost everywhere in the world, they are typically available on distribution platforms that hold the broadcasting rights. In the case of The Walking Dead or Breaking Bad, the platform is Netflix, I believe, internationally.
In a globalized world where series travel to other countries, this would be an interesting feature to implement.

I know that series can be available on different platforms depending on the country, so it would be useful if TMDB searches took this into account, for example, by using a symbol for the country, or by using international country codes or nomenclature. Some examples would be {info.platform.BR} (Brazil), {info.platform.SP} (Spain), or {info.platform.US} (USA).

And if a series is available in a country on multiple platforms, the most important one could be selected automatically, or the first one could be picked, or even allow the order to be chosen using [0], [1], etc. For example: {info.platform.US[0]}

FileBot does not currently implement the Watch Providers API endpoint. We could consider adding additional API but we would for need to better understand your use case. Ideally it should be a use case that benefits a number of people. So lets see if anybody seconds and thirds this addition.


What is your use case? Do you mean to add the streaming service to the file path for some reason?

The idea of implementing this feature would be to organize series content by platforms (in folders), just as it is done by networks or genres.
We all know that channels or platforms produce or select their content based on certain criteria, and in the same way that someone might decide to watch a horror or drama series thanks to genre-based folder organization, it could be interesting to do the same with platforms (just as it can currently be done by networks). We’re all aware of the differences in content between platforms depending on their acquisition policies, right?
It simply seemed interesting to me that, since the {info.network} option already exists, there could also be a {info.platform} option as another classification choice.

Let’s hope more people support this request.
