Fetch subtitels

Hi,
I bought the Filebot app in the Mac Appstore some years ago. It just worked fine until some weeks ago. I had the Option „Fetch Subtitles“ enabled.
But now it doesn‘t get the subtitles anymore.
I read somewhere that opensubtitles.org was changed to opensubtitles.com. To change that back there was some code which had to be written in the terminal.

The problem is, that it doesn‘t find the Program „fileBot“. How will I be able to change back to opensubtitles.org again? Or is there an other Option?

Thanks for helping me out

You can also enter your custom settings in the GUI:

Properties: Select all

net.filebot.WebServices.OpenSubtitles.v1=true
:arrow: Advanced Settings / Developer Options / System Properties

@rednoah I have the same issues as OP but I am not versed at all in what you wrote in response. Not even sure what a GUI is or how to navigate to it.

I am on macOS Tahoe 26.2 and running FileBot 5.2.0. I have been following YouTube tutorials on how to extract subtitles during the renaming process. I follow all the steps, login to my OpenSubtitles.com VIP account, make sure I have "Fetch subtitles" checked in the post processing, and when I click Rename, it never even searches for subtitles. It will fetch other things if I check them, like artwork. And I am able to successfully search each individual movie within the subtitle submenu. But this would take an eternity. Am I doing something wrong?

I can make a new thread if need be...

:idea: What are the file names you are working with? Are subtitles available for these files? The Fetch subtitle files feature may not always work because Exact Search: Lookup by Hash may not always work for the specific file at hand.

:arrow: You can batch download subtitles for all your video files, via Exact Search: Lookup by Hash if possible or Fuzzy Search: Lookup by Name if necessary, like so:
