FileBot

Hello,

I had Filebot 4.9.x with a license on my Windows machine.
Tried to install 5.1.7 using the msi package.
Got warning message 1909 "could not create shortcut", then error message 2902 "Unexpected error".
My initial installation is now gone

Can you help?

You could try the *-portable.zip if the MSI installer doesn't work for one reason or another:

The 1909 error is likely caused by the ProgramMenuDir folder (that's where Start Menu links go) not being accessible. The 2902 error might just be caused by the previous error. Just a guess. I have no clue. As this is a generic Windows installer issue, you might be able to figure it out by Googling and trying lots of things.




EDIT:

Are you running any unusual software in the background? Anti-Virus software? General Installation Issues (Windows) suggests that your Anti-Virus software might interfere with MSI installers.

For the record, yes, I'm running BitDefender Antivirus.
