That's just a child-safety feature that prevents you from running unsigned software. You can click on
More info to reveal the
"run anyway" button. You are likely to get this error when the release is still new and hasn't yet been reported and marked as safe by a multitude of users.

You can check the
SHA-256 hash or the
PGP SIGNATURE if you're worried about man-in-the-middle or server-side tampering.

That said, as long as you have downloaded the *.msi from our official website, you can generally trust the installer and run it regardless of the false-positive warnings from
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen and friends may give you.

I bypassed all the security, Installed and it broke...now another problem. Will not let me install it. Installer is looking for a different .msi version number
5.2.0 instead of
5.2.1
I tried repair and uninstall to start fresh, but still same error. The new msi is the only file I have left, but I keep getting this when I click installer. (see pic). Will it work if I rename the msi to
5.2.0?
EDIT: I fixed my problem using the Microsoft Install - Uninstall Troubleshooter. Apparently it jumbled some registry entries together with the 2 versions. I guess normal uninstall leaves conflicting reg entries against new version.

Sorry, no idea. Usually you can just install the new version and it'll work, regardless of whether or not a previous version of FileBot was installed. I was not able to reproduce the issue on my Windows computer. The MSI package itself hasn't changed, just a minor update of some files that are installed, the code that builds the MSI package itself has not changed.
I guess you could try installing and older version just to see what happens?
