This is relating to Plex or Jellyfin id's.
I realise the prefered is to name the folder not the file with the IMDB or TMDB id but that doesnt work for my OCD and plex which i use still picks up the information if the file is just named
also makes it easier for explorer to keep groups of movies for instance all the ghostbuster movies in 1 folder intead of 1 folder for each movie

So using the TMDB or IMDB template creates drive/Media/Movies/Movie name {imdbid or TMDB}/movie file
removing the folders in the config does nothing it still creates /movies/movie id/filename withouth the id.

Anyway to just name the file itself? and let me worry about the rest

You can change your custom format to generate the file paths you seek.

e.g. rename movies in place: e.g. sort movies into a flat movie structure:

Thanx, the rename in place is what i sought. but as it turned out i ended up going through my whole library and just did it the way that makes plex happier.
Does my OCD in having files named as they were originally instead of for instance movie 1, movie 2, movie 3

Why oh why did people think it was a great idea to not name things based on there order in the franchise or named anything remotely to do with the franchise but thats a seperate story, i get when prequels are thrown in after it makes it akward but some things aren't even named based on what they are a part of.

Well, there might be a way to browse collections the way you want via a Plex library. The key about naming files is that Plex can identify them quickly and reliably, but once that is done, then Plex can give arbitrary views of your library, by genre, by year, by collections, etc, on demand as needed.
