DC, Extended edition, etc. not adding to filename

I've been using a mishmash of several naming schemes for quite a while. but one thing that never transfers over is Directors cut extended edition, etc. I rip my movies from my blu-ray collection, preserving only the movie, audio, and subtitles. my Donnie Darko DC for example is just called Donnie Darko. did I do something wrong in the ripping? Are there no tags to preserve? and if so, how do I preserve/add tags to my blu-ray mkvs?

The only way to do "tags" is by file naming convention, e.g. Donnie Darko 2001 Directors Cut BDRip.mkv, because neither the file nor the BD content contain that information. So you need to name things properly when you back up your disks.

Ahhh thank you. Must have misunderstood something. Off to rename everything!
