Files greyed out

Hi all;
My older version of filebot stopped working so I upgraded to the new version via the Ubuntu software centre. It installed successfully but when i navigate to any file it's greyed out. I tried moving the files from my usb key to another drive and same deal, i've checked the permissions and it's allowed for everyone. Any ideas?
NB i'm not the greatest with Ubuntu so please be specific if you're talking about runing terminal items or what not.
Thanks
Andrew

Screenshots?
By "navigate to files" do you mean that the file chooser doesn't let you select files? Have you tried Drag-n-Drop and see if that works?
Or are files grayed out in FileBot after you added them?

So when i open filebot and go to 'browse' in the original file screen the files that appear in the new window are greyed out, the folders are ok, just the files. Drag and drop doesn't work

Are you sure that DnD doesn't work? Have you tried dragging in files from various locations? Like from your $HOME/Videos folder where permissions can't be an issue? Are you dropping local files? Or remote files from a network folder?
The Ubuntu File Dialog currently doesn't allow you to select files, only folder. That can't be fixed. You could set
-Dnet.filebot.UserFiles.fileChooser=Swing instead of
-Dnet.filebot.UserFiles.fileChooser=JavaFX but that'll have it's own issues with not being able to browse shares.
PS:
I'd really really appreciated screenshots =>

Will get a screenshot for you, one sec. How do I make that amendment you listed?

Edit /opt/filebot/filebot.sh and replace JavaFX with Swing as described above.

I'd still like to know why Drag-n-Drop isn't working:
* Does it not work for all kinds of files? And folders?
* Does it work for files in your $HOME folders? Like $HOME/Videos?
* Does it not work for network shares? Only network shares?
* When it doesn't work, what's the result? Mouse cursor indicator for drop rejected? Or drop works fine but nothing is added?
