Filebot completely unresponsive

Hey guys,
I installed filebot for the first time last night and it just hasn't worked. The program starts and I see the GUI window, but I can't do anything with it. I can't click on any menu item, and it doesn't let me drag anything into the window. Literally all I can do is close the program. Even moving the window itself is jerky.
I've updated my Java to the latest version, I've rebooted several times, I've closed all other open programs, etc. But nothing seems to help.
I'm running Windows 8.1, and installed the latest version off the Sourceforge installer, and even manually installed an older version just to check -- same behavior.
I don't really know what's going wrong here, and can't find anything similar to my issue through googling it. Anyway, any help is appreciated, thanks!
