Q: Why doesn't FileBot automatically update itself?
Because that's what package management software is for.

FileBot is officially available via the following package management systems:

• Mac App Store on Mac OS X
• Windows Store on Windows 10
• Software Center on Ubuntu
• Package Center on Synology DSM
• Homebrew Cask on Mac OS X
• Chocolatey on Windows
• AUR on Arch Linux

On embedded Linux devices you may call update-filebot.sh (available in the portable package) to update FileBot.jar to the latest revision.
