Hi Guys
Normally Filebot is very reliable and I never have any trouble. But today it's just baffling me.
Observe the screenshot below:
http://1drv.ms/1K7Uzb5
All of these files are in the following folder path on my NAS:
T:\Star Trek The Next Generation\Season 1
Where the heck is Filebot getting Angel, Haven, Code Lyoko, etc from? I was using the TVDB index.
Here's Filebots Sysinfo output:
Code: Select all
FileBot 4.6 (r3052)
JNA Native: 4.0.0
MediaInfo: MediaInfoLib - v0.7.69
7-Zip-JBinding: OK
chromaprint-tools: fpcalc version 1.1.0 (C:\Program Files\FileBot\fpcalc.exe)
Extended Attributes: OK

JRE: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_45
JVM: 64-bit Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM
CPU/MEM: 8 Core / 3 GB Max Memory / 469 MB Used Memory

Can't reproduce the issue:
Code: Select all
Input: /Users/reinhard/Development/test/AMC-TEST/Star Trek The Next Generation - 1x01.mkv
Group: [tvs:star trek the next generation] => [Star Trek The Next Generation - 1x01.mkv]
Rename episodes using [TheTVDB]
Auto-detected query: [Star Trek The Next Generation]
Fetching episode data for [Star Trek: The Next Generation]
Stripping invalid characters from new path: TV Shows/Star Trek: The Next Generation/Season 01/Star Trek: The Next Generation - S01E01 - Encounter at Farpoint, Part 1
[DUPLICATE] Rename [/Users/reinhard/Development/test/AMC-TEST/Star Trek The Next Generation - 1x01.mkv] to [/Users/reinhard/Development/test/OUTPUT/TV Shows/Star Trek The Next Generation/Season 01/Star Trek The Next Generation - S01E01 - Encounter at Farpoint, Part 1.mkv]
Processed 1 files

Thanks for looking, however I can duplicate it over and over here. I've just tried reinstalling Filebot too, and no change.
Are there some logs of some sort I can send you to help figure out why the software is failing in my case? It's driving me mad now, just tried again and the same result. Luckily Plex can handle the file names as they are, but I prefer them with episode titles in the name for ease of browsing.

p.s. Please can you consider turning on attachments on the forum so I can attach screenshots directly without having to upload to Onedrive first. Thanks.

I'd start by readying the
How to 'Request Help'.
In particular:
I wrote:Include file paths as text when reporting mismatches
Because images are rather useless to if I wanted to recreate those filenames automatically.
I'd start by taking a few files, put them in a new clean folder, and see what happens. There's many things you can do to narrow down the problem.
Most likely causes:
* You've renamed them wrong before and now they're tagged with the wrong metadata. See FAQ #2.
* You're renaming badly named or misleading files of multiple shows in one batch. See FAQ #2.
* There's misleading .nfo files somewhere.
TIP: You do know that you do not have to use auto-detection and that you can easily match these files up yourself in a minute or less? See FAQ #2. See Getting Started. See Video Tutorials.
PS: No image upload because there's plenty of excellent image upload sites.

Thank you so much. I was able to force rename the files correctly by using the humble shift key, which I never knew existed in this app.
And I did read the how to request help, it's how I knew how to include the sysinfo output. I just forgot a few other bits of info, obviously. Sorry
Thanks again
