Can one make dummies with it?

That's pretty much for semi-manually batch renaming stuff. You can make dummy file lists with that. Or use it as naming template to rename lots of files in sequential order.

Whatever you create in "List" can be dragged into "New Names" to serve as data for new filenames (same as dropping a text file).
