Mp3 Tagging?

Hello,
I haven't used FileBot for mp3s yet. Is it possible to use it to just update tags and not rename files?
i have a .csv file with: Artist;MainGenre;SubGenre, i would like to load all my mp3s into FileBot, check the Artist tag in the mp3, compare it to the artist tag in the CSV and force the MainGenre/SubGenre that are in the csv into each file. - to ensure each artist has the same MainGenre and SubGenre, and aren't split across several genres - as MusicBrainz tagged them as. ugh. haha.
Thanks,
-Dev

Use "ID3 Tags" datasource instead. MediaInfo should give you all the tags you might want. You can't not rename though. Also FileBot doesn't modify files, so it won't write ID3 tags.

So the best way would be to rename the files with the MainGenre and SubGenre, then use another program to import those into the tags?

Not sure. I've only ever used MusicBrainz Picard to tag music files:

That's the problem. I used that. And it at the genre per song. Not per band. So I'm trying to fix that. Many of my bands are separated by scram different genres. It's annoying. So that's what I'm trying to fix.

personally, I'd correct that manuallly with Foobar2000. (you can do that for whole albums or artists)
You'd want to take a closer look to every genre anyhow.
Genres can be pretty weird some time, so who is to say that x is better than y except you

I have Foobar2000, how can i correct it manually per artist on a mass scale? I have like 2k artists. to do one at a time would take awhile.
