renaming files on AFP shares locks up Finder in MacOS 10.12

Since upgrading to MacOS Sierra (10.12), any time I use FileBot (gui, from AppStore) to rename files on an AFP share on my Synology NAS, FileBot and Finder both become unresponsive and the only way back from it is to forcibly reboot the machine (ie: yanking the power, as trying to shutdown via the apple menu or terminal does nothing at all).
This is occuring on multiple machines, all running 10.12, including a brand new factory-fresh machine that has had nothing else installed on it.
Renaming files local to the machine works just fine as expected, and renaming files on other MacOS machines (via AFP) also works.
Checking the NAS from a different machine shows that the file renaming did in fact happen correctly, however from the machine that initiated the rename, it appears as though nothing happened (since Finder completely stops updating).
Any ideas here?
