I keep my subtitles in \subs so reduce clatter.

Is there a way for cleaner script to check in the folder above subs folder above if fubar.* exist before deleting fubar.lang.srt?

Unfortunately, there's no built-in support for that, but you can take the script and modify it to your needs.
