I'm wondering now if I could somehow parse data out of the to.parent field. I'd like to grab the imdb id out of it and put it into a url in another column as http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1884161 or whatever the number may be. Sounds easy to me for a programmer I think. Sounds crazy hard to me.

Re: AMC script overwriting files when episode lookup fails
Actually that is not the problem.
The problem is when something gets renamed, like say an episode. Then sometime later another episode gets named wrong or for some reason I get another copy of the same episode and it gets the same name. Rather than saying skipped, or giving any kind of hint, it ...

I've been able to run this on my finished tv folder and remove empty folders even when they contain artwork and leave the artwork in the folders that have videos in sub folders, so thank you, I love it. It helps me clean the clutter after I have to reverse bad renaming.

I've always kept my conflict setting on skip, but I've found that when I get my emails after telling me about new files that have been downloaded and renamed, it will tell me that it has been renamed to something even if it has in fact skipped it. 1. Can't reproduce that, but that all in the format, so you can play with that. Possibly the the value {n} is " The ...". Like maybe there is spaces in front of the name and then the format doesn't work with that or something. You can check it.

Drag from where? At first I thought you meant the history window, but I just tried that and can't drag from there. That seems to be the only place that has the original filenames you wanted.

Re: Renaming folders only
Actually I though of a hack that might work. FileBot does have a special case for disk folders (e.g. Avatar (2009)/VIDEO_TS/...) that'll that'll make it not traverse those folders but treat them as media objects. So you could maybe hack that to treat all folders like that.

Well I don't know which one/ones it is. There are some long titles out there though. Like I said, that's part of my problem is that I don't know which ones it is. Are you saying the folder could be 255 and the file could be 255? hmmm, I'm surprised I went over. But I did.

Another strange one.
I used the analyze pane to drag in my videos, nfos and srts to do a batch. I guess it forced a match for the english title on the akas page, which is ok I guess, but it didn't apply that rule to all pieces in the folder. Strange.

I'm sure it does, because in Ember Media Manager, it has given me errors a few times saying files are larger than 260 characters.
