snap won't install anything newer than 4.7.9
Today filebot notified me that my 4.7.9 version can be updated to 4.7.19. I've been grabbing .deb files for my Debian (stretch) system from this website in the past but instead of that I find only snaps are available. I'd never heard of snaps. I've been using deb files with dpkg and apt etc for well...
