Tv shows in destiny and unsorted path

Good evening,

I am having trouble renaming series.
I pass a new series of several chapters that I did not have before to filebot (full season) and during the copy it shows an error saying that one of those chapters already exists, and that it copies it in "unsorted" -> "[COPY] Failure: java.nio.file.FileAlreadyExistsException ".

This is rare, because it happens to me with all seasons and series and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Although it tells me that there has been a problem, it nevertheless copies the series to the destination. I copy it correctly and renamed in the output that I want, but at the same time it copies it in "unsorte" duplicating the copy. That is to say, it copies the season correctly, complete and renamed in the correct place, but apart from that it leaves me a copy in "unsorted" without renaming it. I do not understand this either, I understood that "unsorted" was just for when there were errors when processing multimedia content, so I do not understand if it is processed correctly why it copies the content to "unsorted", and if otherwise there are errors (I do not understand why if it is a completely new season) it correctly copies it to the destination

Another example, but in this case there are not any kind of "java.nio.file.FileAlreadyExistsException" like other time.

The same that there are no errors and copies it to "unrated" I have passed more times too.

Can you provide a simple test case to reproduce the issue? Preferably without the added complexity of docker, docker compose, watching file system events, all of which can introduce issues in their own way depending on your specific setup.

The errors and behaviors you see don't make sense to me. Unless perhaps multiple filebot instances are processing the same files in parallel? Make sure only one filebot instance is running at any give time to avoid race conditions.

Note that you will get log entires for all file system operations. So if you get files in both TV Shows destination and Unsorted destination, that means files have been processed twice, and thus corresponding log entries will appear twice. If you can only find it once, then you're missing half the log for some reason.

I strongly recommend using --log-file /destiny/amc.log to make sure your log file is outside and independent of the container, as to avoid race conditions, and ensure a linear log.

It is a very good idea, to test it and make sure I have stopped all the filebot containers and I have left only one (tv shows). I have done a test again but the behavior has been as follows.

He has copied all the correctly renamed chapters to me, and in unsorted, he has copied all but 3. All very strange.

I leave the output of my last test. It is seen that it is copied correctly in the destination, but nevertheless it leaves me a copy without rename in "Unrated". In the logs, you don't see anything related to unrated and yet leave a copy.

I strongly recommend using --log-file /destiny/amc.log to make sure your log file is outside and independent of the container, as to avoid race conditions, and ensure a linear log.

In the docker-compose statement that I pasted before, you can see that I have changed the output of the log

The OP shows that logging is definitely working for Unsorted entries just the same as for files that were processed normally:

If you end up with new files that the logs don't account for then somewhere something is running that you are not aware of. The first order of business is to understand everything that's happening. Things happening that are not in the log is a clear sign we're missing something. Only the man/woman in front of the keyboard can figure this out, by systematically trying lots of things, narrowing things down, testing things checking assumptions, etc.

Again I have copied 3 seasons and I have had problems with 3 again. In all of them it has told me that some chapter was already in the destination (and in the same way as other times, he copies all of them in the destination and in unrated).

The only thing that is special is that the destination is a host-mounted nfs, and this nfs is presented to the docker as /destiny, that there is some kind of poor performance and it does some checking while it is still modifying. Why can't I think of anything else

Remote file system strangeness is very certainly very possible. Your --output folder being a double-abstracted remote file system probably should have been mentioned in the OP na.

But did we figure out yet why the logs don't make sense? I'd make sense of the logs first, otherwise we're either flying blind, or with misleading information, neither of which leads to our destination.

Since we can't trust /Destiny as a remote file system, I recommend creating an additional docker volume on the local host local file system, for all the important local files, at the very least --log-file and --def excludeList should be local, instantly readable, lockable, not affected by race conditions, etc.

You're right I'm sorry. But I had a lot of fighting before opening the ticket and it is something that had not fallen before. Yesterday, drawing the whole scheme on paper was when I fell. Again I am sorry, because it is a fundamental information.

For my part I have changed the configuration of the fstab and I will do more tests.

If I finish solving it, I will write in case someone else happens again.

At the moment I do not find sense. Just like some kind of nfs cache setting is causing this error. I have to look at it in depth and do more tests.

Hello rednoah,

I am here again to say that I solved the problems a few weeks ago, and in case it happens to more people they have the solution.
The problem came from setting the nfs volume (fstab). I had to have some kind of cache that conflicted during the copy and all my files appeared duplicate (destination and unsorted)
Since I left them by default I have had no problem.
