file called 'Max' gives java.lang.nullpointerexception

Post by Jules »

Hi,

Just joined to report this bug. Great software, by the way.

To replicate:
Run FileBot 3.62 (I'm on Windows 7).
Create a file called max.srt or Max.avi etc. Any file called max with an extension that FileBot will attempt to handle. The file can be in a directory called 'max' or not, the result is the same.
Add to FileBot and try to match it using TheMovieDB.
A java.lang.nullpointerexception will appear.

Please let me know if I can supply any more detail.

Seems this issue has already been fixed with the latest SVN revision. Works with r1808.

I'm not a coder, so apologies if I'm misunderstanding this. You're saying that a version compiled from the most recent source code doesn't display this bug, so when the next official release (for those of us without compilers or the ability to use them!) comes out, it will be fixed. If I understand that correctly, would you expect that next release to be in a few weeks or a few months?

(Please don't take this as any sort of criticism; I totally appreciate that FileBot is free and I am not entitled to a speedy release cycle. Just wondering!)

PS Just noticed that a file called riders.avi gives the same error when matched using the TheMovieDB.

Pretty much. But there's pre-release packages you can try in the meanwhile.

Try FileBot_3.8_RC5 from here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/filebo ... ebot/HEAD/

Yeah, 3.8_RC5 doesn't have the bug. Many thanks for your help.
