Blank Gray Screen on Launch

On launch I get a blank gray screen. There is nothing output to console. CLI works fine. Using Linux.

I mean, it just looks like this.

nothing comes up in console.
it opens a dialogue asking if I've used filebot before on first run. other than that it's just blank. Running Arch with up to date java.

Well, I mean the whole Desktop, as that will usually give some context. KDE? Gnome? Which distribution? Graphics drivers? What version of Java? Java 8? Java 13?

Could be anything. It's definitely something that is unique or special to your system or hardware though. That's the one clue we have.

Have you tried the latest beta?

Since this is likely to affect all Java Swing based applications, not just FileBot, you will probably find some help via Google as well. Probably just a matter of installing different graphics drivers, or enabling/disabling something in the Java Swing render pipeline.

No DE; just a wm, so there's not really anything else to see there. Arch Linux. Java 8. Intel Graphics.
I've had filebot running on this computer at some point a long time ago; so the hardware if definitely fine; but I'll screw around with things and see if i can get it to work.

Well, that's probably not a common configuration that FileBot or Java Swing is made for or tested on. Stackoverflow is probably your best option to ask for help on that one. You'll definitely wanna emphasize the "No DE; just a wm" right away there.
