Multilanguage, configuration and data origins

Post by pr1nc1p3 »

Please, add Filmaffinity as a good alternative for IMDB sometimes. We need more options for data origins, like configurate IMDB for use in spanish and other languages.

Thanks!

TheMovieDB supports aka titles for different languages and FileBot will grab you the data for the selected language. I'd just be polite to add the missing data of you find something missing. That helps FileBot and pretty much every other software that works with movies.

I help all I can! But IMDB got 22 years of refined metadata, and Filmaffinity 10 years. They are a lot of specific language websites, or B movies, or anime... I think it's a good idea filebot can use a "script funcionality" like other software (Ant Movie Catalog or GCStar) to delegate hours of work into community, personalize and improve data sources.

This is a example of which and how many web sites can be interested:

They are a lot! But it's the result of many years of user contribuitions.

That's really a lot of page scrapers. Wouldn't even be much work to build a plugin system like that with Groovy. But filebot has had scripting for a year and I'm effectively the only one writing scripts.

In anycase always happy if anyone wants to contribute but so far nobody that ever offered to help out delivered anything... :/
