(Resolved) Filebot can't fetch data for series

Okay so I've been using filebot for a pretty long time now and never really had any bother, if I did usually it's already been posted here. I watch a series called Forever and I have my filebot set-up to automatically grab the series, rename and move it to the appropriate location. This has worked well but just today a new episode was released and upon fetching the data from TheTVDB filebot fails.. but it's not different from the last time, the only thing I can think of is when I updated filebot to the latest version.. but I can't remember if I did that before episode 13 or after..

The previous episode which I downloaded went through filebot without any issues,
Name: "Forever.US.S01E13.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION" and this time it failed with the name being, "Forever.US.S01E14.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION"

The only thing I've noticed is that it's querying "Forever US" which isn't the proper name of the show, but it never use to do this.. Here's my log

Code: Select all

Parameter: clean = y
Parameter: storeReport = y
Parameter: seriesFormat = D:/Media/Tv/{n}/Season {s}/{n} - {s00e00} - {t}
Parameter: movieFormat = D:/Media/Movies/{n} {y}
Parameter: ut_label = TVSHOW
Parameter: ut_state = 10

The Script itself is pretty basic, it hasn't been modified as it hasn't needed any modifications.. the only thing I did try in order to resolve this was to remove -non-strict- from the code hoping a stricter filebot would correct the problem.

Code: Select all

-script fn:amc --output "D:/Media" --log-file amc.log --action copy --conflict override -no-xattr --def "clean=y" "storeReport=y" "seriesFormat=D:/Media/Tv/{n}/Season {s}/{n} - {s00e00} - {t}" "movieFormat=D:/Media/Movies/{n} {y}" ut_label="%1" ut_state="%2" ut_title="%3" ut_kind="%4" ut_file="%5" ut_dir="%6"
Any suggestions?

Okay, so I've noticed that the AMC script was updated 17 days ago, this was after I downloaded EP 13 ..could this possibly have something to do with the issue? Other shows are still downloading as normal but there names are more accurate than this series.. all I can really say is that this series use to download until something changed..

Thanks for any help

I don't use the CLI scripting, so this is just a shot in the dark:

theTVDB added a show called Forevermore in the last couple of days/weeks, presumably since the last episode download - perhaps(!!!!) your script is confused because it has another show with the 'main' name Forever, to search through?

You may need to (now) use a filename-matching list to auto-I.D. "Forever.US" as "Forever.2014" when the script gets to the dbase search.

Hey David, thanks for replying.. usually when the CLI script queries something it would look like this

Code: Select all

Rename episodes using [TheTVDB]
Auto-detected query: [Supernatural]
Fetching episode data for [Supernatural]
Fetching episode data for [The Supernatural (1977)]
Fetching episode data for [Supernatural the Animation]
And then it would select the one it thinks best suites the search, now I don't have the old logs as it gets deleted once a week, but I think that perhaps it use to do something like this for Forever.

Code: Select all

Rename episodes using [TheTVDB]
Auto-detected query: [Forever]
Fetching episode data for [Forever]
Fetching episode data for [Forever 2014]
Instead it now just fails to fetch it because [Forever US] doesn't exist, how do I go about doing the "filename-matching list" ? If I new that was possible, I would have done that a long time ago to all my shows as a precaution.

Again thanks for the response.

I'm just updating my own downloads now... and assume you're talking about the same download as I just found.

I'll now guess (it's still a guess!) that it's because the filename (which I didn't notice in your post) is "for.eh.ver.114" and not "forever.114" or "forever.us.114".
Only the NFO & NZB were named "forever.us.114" - so your folder got created with the right name, but the RARs & MKV had the 'wrong' name...

FB may be smart enough to try & put dot-separated words as a multi-word title, but cannot see them as a single word title. It also may assume (as is normal) that the files would be named the same as the NZB.

This could be a fluke, as the poster tried to thwart takedown algorithms; but it could be an ongoing style he's chosen to use - in which case, you'll need to make adjustments to your sorting habits, or add some code to your format, to swap the series search from "for.ev.er" to "forever".

.... I understand were your coming from on this.. but that's not the problem... it doesn't rename it, it doesn't move it, it fails to process because it cannot find the series within TheTVDB.. it auto-detected the series name as Forever US using the video file itself.

Here's the bottom portion of the log, were it all fails..

I decided to go looking for Episode 13 as my RSS feed keeps a log of the names of each show, the file name for the rars in episode 13 is "a.very.long.time.113.720p-dimension", and that processed without any issues the last time.

So in order to figure this out, I decided to download the last episode which was renamed and sorted correctly without fail. Not surprisingly it failed this time.. So it's definitely an issue with either TheTVdb/Latest Filebot or the new Amc.groovy script.

Here is the log.. for Forever.US.S01E13.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION |"which downloaded correctly the last time."

UPDATE: I decided to grab the old amc.groovy which was released before 13th January and it didn't work, received the same result.. so now it's between the latest filebot and TheTVDB.

Also I tried manipulating groovy to replace "Forever US" with "Forever 2014", I've some knowledge of coding but nothing about java or groovy.. I also figured out that it's not possible "at least for me" to be able to add a file-matching list within the amc.groovy script as it requires you to modify the rename function itself which connects to the TheTVDB database in order to rename the files.. I tried many methods and I used a simple if statement to find the substring and replace it but no success. I also tried simply replacing the variable files but this would fail to find the media to rename.. I assume in order to do this, it would have to be done within the grouping section of the groovy script, but am not entire sure how I would go about doing that.

Okay so I've went with DavidRTurner suggestion which was to use, as he called it "File-matching list" to replace "Forever US" with "Forever 2014".

First of I know nothing about groovy, so this took me a while to do but this will allow me to rename a series within amc.groovy.

I downloaded amc.groovy and placed it on the c drive, I found a section were the TV Episodes get renamed,

Original code

Code: Select all

	// EPISODE MODE
	if ((group.tvs || group.anime) && !group.mov) {

		// choose series / anime config
		def config = group.tvs ? [name:group.tvs,   format:format.tvs,   db:'TheTVDB']
		                       : [name:group.anime, format:format.anime, db:'AniDB']

		def dest = rename(file: files, format: config.format, db: config.db)
Using the rename functions feature to force it to use a specific name, I managed to create a map which allows me to have the name filebot processes as the key to access the value I want, I then feed that information through a simple condition to determine if the series name needs renamed for TheTVdb.

Which ended with the following code

Code: Select all

def MyList = [foreverus:'Forever 2014']
def Key = "$group.tvs".replaceAll("\\s","")

def dest = (MyList.containsKey(Key)) ? rename(file: files, query: MyList[Key], format: config.format, db: config.db) : rename(file: files, format: config.format, db: config.db)
Those few lines of code replace the the following code

Code: Select all

def dest = rename(file: files, format: config.format, db: config.db)
What this code does;
1. Get's the series name using group.tvs,
2. Remove any spaces, so that it matches the Key within the list
3. If the Key exists then rename with alternative series name, otherwise simply continue as normal.

I hope this helps others.. I might look into creating a simple text document or xml file to place my list in which then would be grabbed by the groovy script so that I wont have to continuously edit the amc script in order to add more names.. (currently have around 25 tv shows that download weekly)

For those who aren't familiar with groovy like myself, to add more names to the list simple do the following.

def MyList = [foreverus:'Forever 2014', namefilebotuses:'custom name']
make sure the namefilebotuses is all lower cases, the value 'custom name' isn't case sensitive.

Instead of modifying the script it'd probably just call file-name-replace script to pre-rename the files to something that can then be processed by a standard amc script call. ;)

PS: nice to see more people hacking away on the scripts, that's how it was meant :D

I didn't know that was possible :) I will have to look into it :D

It gradually get's easier the more I dig in, but I'm still learning :P

Thanks for the help :)

Edit just a thought, I don't think I could pre-rename the files.. as my shows are downloaded via RSS in uTorrent, it then seeds till 200% then get's auto-deleted (providing filebot processed the file properly) if it didn't then it would ask me if I still want it removed.

So because utorrent is using those files I don't think pre-renaming would work.. unless I stopped the torrent temporarily stop the torrent, pre-rename the files, let filebot do it's job and then rename those files again.. then start the seeding again.. but that would be a longer process than the current method am using...

a nice CLI feature to have would be Def --FixMatch="forever*us:forever*2014" so it only replaces the file name, example: forever.us.scene -> forever.2014.scene, temporarily for fetching the name whilst it maintains the current file name for the renaming process.

but at the moment the method am using works pretty well and fast, and it doesn't affect my torrents seeding process.

Re: (Resolved) Filebot can't fetch data for series

I can add those mappings via my internal database. But it might take 1-2 weeks for it to propagate to all users, and maybe longer right now since things are a bit broken here on my side right now.

Oh right, it would be a nice feature to have, means people can fix the renaming issue instantly without having to write into the script or rename the files. At the moment though I'm happy with what I've got, it's doing it's job :) but would be a nice feature to see in the future.
