Add date to movie folder not the files

Post by Mimen »

Ok, I figured out how to add the date to file by using {n} ({y}){" CD$pi"}.

How do I add the date to the folder the movie file is in. I find stuff on the forum but I dont understand, cant figure it out?

There is 5 predefined formats in the Format Editor. Have you tried clicking on the last one and see what happens?

Code: Select all

{n} ({y})/{n} ({y}){" CD$pi"}

Yes thank you Rednoah. Ive tried it 3 times after your answered my post with the same result.30.Minutes.Or.Less.2011.BDRip-HD
One of the examples:
The folder is called: 30.Minutes.Or.Less.2011.BDRip-HDT
The files is called: 30.Minutes.Or.Less.(2011)

It still does not rename the folder the movie is in including the date.

The file that is renamed with the expression above is moved as defined by the relative path expression. So there'll be new folder where the file was, and inside the new folder will be the file. If you don't want a relative path you can obviously define an absolute path, or use ../ or whatever.

Watch the video tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcSFKiwFLZw#t=541

1. FileBot does not rename folders
2. The idea of literally renaming folders is flawed
3. FileBot does move files, into a new folder structure if so defined in the format, thus you have full control of how you name your folders

Next time better add a screenshots, or I'll never know what it is your asking for.
