AMC configuration

Hello,

Thanks so much for the awesome piece of software. I've been using the GUI for a long time and just now starting using the CLI. I wanted to reach out about my experience in configuring AMC and maybe get some guidance, though, I am not quite at the "HELP ME!" point.
My main issue is that there is not a 1:1 relationship between what you plug into uTorrent and what you use in the CLI. I understand this is due to the fact that uTorrent uses certain variables but there doesn't appear to be a way to run it manually. It'd be nice if we could just forego the uTorrent variables and use hardcoded directories that were monitored and, in turn, evaluated by Filebot. I know the uTorrent logger offers some guidance but nothing is generated until you have downloaded stuff. So you essentially have to put untested software into "production" to help guide you on how to configure it correctly. Not ideal.

I get that you know the limitations and mechanics of all of this much better so please don't feel like I am being critical. I am just voicing from a users perspective and providing a little feedback mainly so you can know where my head is at and steer me back in the right direction.

Here's is what I ended up plugging into uTorrent. I am not really expecting it to work but will look over the logger once I have downloaded some stuff (I have everything paused while the wife and I are awake)....

The following is the syntax of what I was using to test with directly in powershell...

"\\192.168.0.5\e$\Torrent Complete\Ice.Age.4.Continental.Drift.2012.DVDRip.XviD.AC3-3LT0N" is my source directory in this test scenario. When I ran it I received the following error: "Conflicting arguments: pass in either file arguments or ut_d". I searched around the forums for the issue but there wasn't a whole lot there. I tried a few different configurations but yeah. No luck.

Will post the torrent logger output when I have some.

1.
It's still just cmdline. You can call manually what you utorrent would call automatically.

2.
The command uses --action copy so no reason why you can't test it in "production".

3.
You can pass in file arguments either via the --def ut_* parameters or via cmdline arguments as you would with any other cmdline tool. Just not both. I can't tell you the reason because you didn't send me the full output.

Are you passing arguments properly?

I will retry the command line test and capture the output as well as amc.log. I cannot find the logger in uTorrent. I am using uTorrent 3.4.2 and JRE 7up67..

Also sent a few euros your way for the support. Thanks!

1. Does what I put into uTorrent look accurate?
EDIT: I just saw where you pointed out this missing ".

2. Where is the logger in uTorrent? I've tried right clicking the categories and no context menu appears. Picture attached.

3. Best resource for learning groovy? I am okay with .net and c++.

3.either via the --def ut_* parameters

The only parameters I am using in the uTorrent version are...
""ut_label=%L" "ut_state=%S" "ut_title=%N" "ut_kind=%K" "ut_file=%F" "ut_dir=%D"
and these are not present in my test version

Could you write out the cmd line equivalent of what I plugged into uTorrent?

Here is what I am using to test inside the cmd prompt...

Unfortunately, I don't know how to test with my network folders. Also I think I may be banned from imdbID.

Here's how to make the Logger tab visible:
You may need to enable the Logger tab first (just right-click one of the other tabs like Info).
And here's what the Logger tab will show you:
It's always helpful to check the exact command utorrent ends up executing in the Logger tab. It'll look something like this:

I don't know any good tutorial for Groovy. It's usually examples and most of it makes immediate sense to Java programmers. You can probably learn most of what you need from my scripts on GitHub.

There's plenty of format examples here in the forums and in the GUI application itself.

2.
Rename perfectly adheres to your (bad) formats:

Bad? Please explain to me how hard coding a static IP and not relying on DNS is "bad"? I have a domain and I often use a VPN so name resolution isn't always reliable. Also they are only being placed on the root for testing.

The piece in the log that was troubling me is here ...

It looks like the name of the file would be "g$.mp4" or am I interpreting this incorrectly?

Okay, now I understand what you are saying.
