2015 mac command line explanation?

OK so i've been reading and reading and reading (and reading) and not matter what i try to do i can't get any of these command lines to run, or do anything for that matter.
setup:
Mac OSX El Capitan
uTorrent
Terminal

i copy and paste the codes i see and nothing happens. I try to DL one of the "groovy" scripts and launch it using terminal (btw when it saves its .groovy.html) and nothing happens or it tells me i don't have permission but when i check the permissions it read/write for all options (admin, me, etc etc)

Is anyone out there running latest version of mac (uTorrent, Terminal etc) that can explain what exactly i'm supposed to do?

My plan was to create a folder action that when a few file was added to a specific folder that folder would run a script in terminal that would then organize the files and delete any leftovers.

Do you have a general idea how command-line tools work? (Google will help)

What have you tried? filebot -version? filebot -script fn:sysinfo? The amc script? What's the output? (People here might help)
