Sure, if you use '...' then the shell doesn't interpret $ or ! but it will if you do "...".

I have a strong feeling that you didn't read the link I gave you. Remind me, what happens if you quote with ' and then use ' in your argument?

Your format is slightly wrong. Use the GUI to make sure it works first.


3.
When writing your format, make sure you don't use any "..." so you can then easily quote it with "..." when you pass it as an argument.

It's just a warning. If xattr don't work then xattr don't work. If you don't need xattr, then you can ignore that.
