Windows 10 version errors

Post by cimmadif »

I was asked to post this info after my review on the windows 10 store.
I have to say I love filebot, but I have to run the windows 7 version.
I bought the windows 10 version thru the windows 10 store. It installs fine.
When I try to open/run the program I get the following error

Image

Currently running windows 10 home
Version 1607
OS Build 14393.693
Processor : AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor 3.50 Ghz
16 GB Ram

Any other info you want, i'll gladly get you.

Reading the Microsoft forum and Microsoft isn't being overly helpful are they?
Whatever type of logs they want, all I need to know is how to get them and I will post them for you.

Looks like it might have been a hardware issue. The hard-drive started making weird noises so I picked up a new HD and started a full reload.
I just installed the store version of filebot and it opens and works perfectly.
I updated my rating in the windows 10 store to a full 5 of 5.

Thanks

Interesting. Reinstalling Windows probably fixed whatever may have been the problem.

I was having the exact same issue.

Since I have many other apps running successfully on this PC for several years, I was 100% sure there is nothing wrong with my hardware nor my Windows Installation.

I was able to resolve this problem by closing a few apps, using the task manager, that were running in the background and loaded at Windows Startup; such as bonjour, AnyDVD & MyMovies. I am not sure which one was the culprit at this point in time.
FYR here are my Windows details:

Code: Select all

  Edition: Windows 10 Pro
  Version: 1607
  OS Build: 14393.953
  Processor: Intel Celeron CPU G1820 @ 2.70GHz
Installed RAM: 4.00 GB (3.67 GB usable)
System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

This is getting stranger and stranger then! Have you tried enabling / disabling any one of these applications to see if you can reliable enable / break FileBot with that? My first guess would be AnyDVD because it hooks deep into the system. It seems so unrelated though, that it may just have been a coincidence, but if it is related then it's very strange indeed.
