I was looking to install Filebot on Xubuntu and went to do so using the Ubuntu Software Centre. When searching for filebot, the result appeared to cost US$2.99. Thinking this was a little odd for a Sourceforge project, I checked again and it appeared to be no charge on Filebot.net (if you download the deb version or any version for another OS).
Please don't think this a complaint to be asked to pay for software because it most certainly isn't, the GPL even says you can, but I was kind of wondering why it had a cost on USC but not elsewhere?
Filebot costs $2.99 on Ubuntu Software Centre?
Re: Filebot costs $2.99 on Ubuntu Software Centre?
Well, it was just an experiment since it was a matter of clicking one radio button or another. Since USC deals with all the money business and if the system automatically help you pay it doesn't even affect the user-experience. The AppStore concept works.
80% goes into FileBot, 20% goes into Ubuntu. Consider it a donation.

PS: Best thing about is I can get into the Top10 paid apps with just 10-20 installs! Great publicity and good for google ranking!
