Hey forum
Just found this awesome addon, one thing i use a lot of time on is trying to find match movies like 12fec55a600a4d8c9d18d4206fe9aba4.mp4
with the right name, not sure if this is even possible.. but to sit rename this manually form searching usenet and paste to filename could
be automated, and this tools seems very nice alrdy and maybe could also somehow implement this feature?
Kind regards
Ia
Usenet search as meta target for name
Re: Usenet search as meta target for name
FileBot certainly doesn't have built-in logic to make sense of file names such as 12fec55a600a4d8c9d18d4206fe9aba4.mp4 and the like. You can however use Plain File Mode and have your own custom format figure it out. This will require some Groovy coding skills, but won't be too difficult if you just need to make a HTTP request.
I'm not familiar with Usenet search APIs, but if you can do it manually, then you can probably do it via FileBot / Groovy code. If there's an API, then that'll be easier. If it's a HTML website that requires login, then you can still scrape that, but it'll be a bit more tricky.

Did you make any progress? Does your usenet search / indexer provide an API that FileBot can use?
